"Why Most Presentations send their audience to sleep – And How to Fix Yours"

If you want to find out how good your next presentation will be, do this simple equation.

Marking out of 10.

  • How much do you care?
  • How much time do you have?
  • How important is it to the business?
  • Divided by how much you hate presenting

So if you really don’t care (3) and you don’t have much time (3) and it’s not very important to the business (3), and you hate presenting (9), then your score will be: 3 + 3 + 3 ¸ 9 = 1. You can see this is going to be a very poor presentation.

Conversely if you multiply the first 3 scores by 3 and divide the final one by 3, then you will have a score of 9 + 9 + 9 ¸ 3 = 9. You are going to put together a pretty good presentation.

So if you want to make a super engaging presentation you to:

care more,

spend a bit more time creating and rehearsing,

make it matter to the business,

but most importantly….

YOU HAVE TO ENJOY PRESENTING – OR AT THE VERY LEAST HATE IT LESS!
